Taʼrif120 West 16th Street from west.jpg
The building at 120 West 16th Street between Sixth and Seventh Avenues in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City, was built in 1878 for the New York House and School of Industry (founded 1851), an institution designed to help destitute women by training them in the needlework trade. The bulding, one of the first in the city in the Queen Anne style, was designed by Sidney V. Stratton, and restored by Anderson Associates. It was designated a NYC landmark in 1990, and is currently used by the Young Adults Institute. {Sources: Guide to NYC Landmarks (4th ed.) and AIA Guide to NYC (4th ed.))
