Object history
Deutsch: Mit Genehmigung des Landes Rheinland-Pfalz vom 20. März 1962 erhielt die Gemeinde Dreis die Erlaubnis zur Führung eines eigenen Wappens. Wappenbeschreibung: In Gold ein schwarzer doppelköpfiger Reichsadler mit rotem Nimbus, belegt mit einem silbernen Kreuz, dem eine fleischfarbige Schwurhand aufliegt. Wappenbegründung: Das Wappen ist einem Gerichtssiegel von Dreis aus dem Jahre 1722 entnommen. Kreuz und Schwurhand sind auf lokale Wappentradition als Zeichen der Gerichtsbarkeit zurückzuführen.
