Biografiyasi

Arvind Sharma Varanasida tugʻilib oʻsgan. 1962-yilda Allahabad universitetida tarix, iqtisod va sanskrit fanlari bakalavriatini tamomlagan. 1962—1968-yillarda. Gujarotda amaldor boʻlib xizmat qilgan. 1970-yilda Sirakuza universitetida iqtisod bo‘yicha magistr darajasini va 1974-yilda Harvard ilohiyot maktabida ilohiyot bo‘yicha magistr darajasiga ega chiqqan. 1978-yili Harvard universitetida sanskrit va hindologiya boʻyicha doktorlik darajasini yoqlagan. 1976—1980-yillarda Queensland universitetida, 1980—1987-yillarda Sidney universitetida Osiyo dinlaridan dars bergan. 1987-yilda Monrealdagi McGill universitetining dinshunoslik kafedrasi dotsenti etib tayinlangan. Hozirda u yerda dinshunoslik professori lavozimida ishlaydi.

Sharmaning „Jahon dinlarida feminizm“ monografiyasi Choice jurnali tomonidan 1999-yilning eng yaxshi ilmiy monografiyalaridan biri deb topildi.
